Josh Smith – WPF Coming To Charlotte Developers GUILD Code Camp 20 Oct 2007

September 25, 2007

I must admit, I feel like the guy adversing the “Big Top” (circus) in 1960.  The hire wire act is new, canon stunts never before performed and “forget about” that new roaring lion.  How can these facts and features be communicated so that people will come?

In our world today, simply stating the facts is not enough.  Overkill selling is required just to keep up with the other guy doing the same thing.  Promoters bust out the dictionary and thesaurus for every event.  In TV, each episode is a “season must see blockbuster event you don’t want to miss!”

So how does Shifflett articulate to developers, architects in Charlotte, Columbia, Greeensboro, Greenville areas that we are blessed to have Josh Smith presenting at our Charlotte, Code Camp?  That if they have any interest in WPF whatsoever, they won’t want to miss this?

Just the facts, no sales pitch.

a.  I have been studying Josh’s WPF work since April 2007.  He is a true master of his trade.  His technical excellence, real world expierence and easy to understand succinct writing style amalgamate, providing the reader full appreciation of complex topics.

b.  In September he gave his WPF – The Beauty of the Beast, presentation at VS Live! in New York City.  I’m very much looking forward to this here in Charlotte.

c.  With Josh, it’s all WPF.  No PowerPoint’s here.  He wrote the presentation using… you guessed it, WPF!

d.  Would you like to learn about WPF from The Man?  Would you like to get your WPF questions answered by a WPF expert?  Then be at Josh’s presentation at Code Camp.
