Last night my computer started beeping at me!!! I was going NUTS.
Everytime I went to a web page, BEEP! I’m thinking spyware or CIA is monitoring me.
Time to reboot, clear the temp files, Anti-Virus scan, Ad-Aware Scan, check the registry, look at running processes, read the latest round of Windows Updates that Vista has sucked down. Still, BEEP!
Couldn’t find it, finally went to bed.
Got up this morning, BEEP! Mole was speaking to me!
Started looking at my IR settings since my iPhone sometimes alerts other devices in it’s range that it wants to converse. Nope.
Then, I got the idea of the year, the idea that will keep me out of the funny farm for a little longer, simply check the Control Panel Sound applet.
Sure enough, late last night I was fooling around with my RSS Feeds and noticed this harmless little CheckBox that allowed me to hear a sound when a web page has an attached feed. I’m kind of new to this RSS business so, if figured, OK sounds good. Well, just about every page on the web has a feed attached! Never expected this!
You can see the setting in the below image.
You heard it here, “never adjust your computer settings when it’s late and your tired!”
This almost rises to the level of this warning, “never get out of the boat!”
Do you really want to laugh? Go and Google this; my computer is beeping at me
You’ll get tons of horror stories and panic. I guess I got off easy.
Just a grain of sand on the worlds beaches.
