It’s just 4 hours into the new year, 2008 and I was declared a winner! It’s true. I’m a Geek with a Prize!
I joined Community Credit on 21 Dec 2007. It is a super web site where developers can log their contributions to the world of computing and developing. You don’t log work related items, just things you do outside of work and then give or expose to world, usually over the Internet in the form of articles, tutorials, code examples, etc.
This is an international site. So you are in effect competing with developers all over the world.
Well, I started loading all my efforts for December and the numbers started growing on me. Then a few days after I got it all in, this thing took on a life of its own.
Me and two other guys from Italy really started gaining and were neck and neck. I posted late yesterday (31 Dec 2007) and pulled ahead of one guy so that I could win 1st prize. This is the prize I really wanted a, Hydrogen Generating Car. (it is a toy car)
In effect I was #2. There was a grand prize, I won 1st Prize. You can check it out here.

I was encouraged by my co-worker Bill Apodaca to join Community Credit. Hey, if your blogging, writing articles, tutorials or doing presentations, why not log your efforts and possibly win a prize too. David Silverlight runs Community Credit and is a great guy. He is very helpful, responsive and a pleasure to work with.
It’s all about sharing and learning from one another. Trust me, you have skills, techniques, methods, ideas or programs that will be of value to many others. So contribute and have fun too!
